WE ARE ALL EQUAL
The saddest part about the world is having power and not being accepted in the society. Being in a place so diverse as Earth is truly incredible and not having a chance to embrace that diversity is terrible. Women get all kinds of appreciation, not to mention Women's day, but Women's day last's how long?A day? Out of the three hundred and sixty five days we have only one day in a year to do whatever we want, which I feel is not fair. Everyday should be a day dedicated and celebrated for women. Also the society has come up with a few rules that SHOULD be (apparently) followed by us-women. a few of those rules include:
-Women are not supposed to wear shorts or any kinds of "slutty" dresses.
-Women are not supposed to sit cross- legged and not have the right to comfort like men.
-Women are always the one's to make tea when guests arrive at home.*
-A mother's presence at her son's marriage is considered bad luck.
-The brides are the ones going to the groom's house *
These are the rules, but what about the unanswered questions? Questions like why do children always use the father's surname? Ever wondered why the mother's is not used? We have all heard of "housewives", ever heard of working-dad?
I know it's a bit too late for women's day, but it's never too late to talk about our social issues. There will be Women's day...when we are truly accepted by the society.
*(most of the time, although it has reduced).
THANK YOU!
